DEFENSOR TAPS PNP HIGHWAY PATROL GROUP TO COMBAT ILLEGAL PARKING ENFORCE ROAD SAFETY

Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. is collaborating with the PNP Highway Patrol Group to address illegal parking and improve road safety across major thoroughfares in the province.

The governor shared this during the courtesy visit of the new Regional Director of the PNP Highway Patrol Group VI Police Colonel Jaycon A Ramos this morning.

Ramos was accompanied by Provincial Highway Patrol Team Iloilo Team Leader Police Major Ryan C Palaran, Police Senior Master Sergeant John A Zata, and Police Staff Sergeant Rubie B Aquino.

They were later joined by Retired Police Colonel Cornelio Salinas who is the head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The HPG is a specialized unit of the PNP tasked with enforcing traffic laws, ensuring road safety, and combating vehicular crimes.

Defensor said he will create a specialized composite team in coordination with HPG VI and the Land Transportation Office to regularly monitor national roads and highways in the five districts.

The Capitol will also procure a vehicle to boost the operational capability of the team in enforcing traffic laws.

The provincial government has earlier formed the Provincial Task Force on Road Safety (PTFRS) to keep Iloilo’s roads safe and orderly.

Moreover, Governor Defensor committed assistance in improving the regional office of the HPG at Camp Martin Delgado, Iloilo City.
