The Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (OPSWDO) is actively on duty today in response to Severe Tropical Storm Opong. Our office has deployed a representative to the Provincial Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to ensure close coordination and timely action.
Through this representation, the OPSWDO is addressing urgent needs related to Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and Food and Non-Food Items (FNI) distribution. We have also coordinated with our Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDOs) to establish Child-Friendly Spaces in evacuation centers, ensuring the safety and psychosocial well-being of children during displacement.
In preparation, the OPSWDO convened its workforce to implement a skeletal duty system to guarantee continuity of services and immediate response whenever necessary.
The OPSWDO remains committed to providing responsive and compassionate service to all affected communities in Iloilo Province.
