Fitness, unity, and public service came together as the Iloilo Provincial Government partnered with the Civil Service Commission Region VI for the 2026 Lingkod Bayani Run, today, September 13, at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol Grounds.
The activity is part of the celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.
Provincial Administrator Raul Banias warmly welcomed the runners composed of civil servants from the national government agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs), local government units, and the Iloilo provincial government employees.
CSC VI Regional Director Atty. Erna T. Elizan emphasized that the initiative serves as a platform to promote wellness, camaraderie, and pride in public service.
โWhile we give service to others, we also have to take care of ourselves,โ Atty. Elizan said.
All proceeds of the activity will directly support the surviving families of dedicated public servants who lost their lives in service to our country.
Meanwhile, the race winners received plaques and cash prizes from the CSC. The Capitol runners also received cash prizes from the Iloilo provincial government.
Special awards were also given to the Department of Education and the Western Visayas Medical Center for having the most number of participants.
