The Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry - Iloilo Chapter,  Inc. led by its President Engr. Fulbert Woo paid a courtesy visit on Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. today ahead of the Agrinnovate Forum scheduled on April 10, 2025 at Hotel del Rio.

They were welcomed by Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul Banias on behalf of Governor Defensor. Also joining Banias during the meeting are Provincial Agriculturist Dr. Ildefonso Toledo and LEDIP Center Chief Aulynn Yue Sin.

The forum, which is co-presented by the Iloilo Provincial Agriculture Office and PCCI Iloilo, will gather farmers, agribusiness leaders, industry experts, government agencies and other stakeholders to explore solutions on farm productivity, sustainability and food security.

Banias emphasized Governor Defensor’s priority which is to boost the province’s rice production that was adversely affected by the drought season last year.

The provincial government eyes to partner with private investors for climate-resilient farming technologies to achieve its annual rice production target of six metric tons per hectare.

The Agrinnovate Forum is one of the activities of the ongoing 124th Semana sang Iloilo Celebration.

Meanwhile, the Iloilo Coffee Council and Iloilo Coffee Board are hosting a week-long Iloilo Coffee and Cacao Exhibit at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol Grounds from April 7 to 11.
