P5.4 Million Aid To 10 ASF-Affected Towns

The provincial government of Iloilo has distributed a total of P5.4 million worth of financial assistance to 10 municipalities covering 554 farmers affected by the African Swine Fever (ASF).

Financial aid ranging between P7,000 and P30,000 were given to the beneficiaries based on the assessed number of affected hogs, as stipulated in Executive Order No. 545 Series of 2022 issued by Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.

Oton was allocated P1.745 million for 198 farmers; San Miguel received P1.374 million for 121 swine raisers; P194,000 for Alimodian (17 farmers); P373,000 for Leganes (39 recipients); P89,00 for Mina (9 farmers); New Lucena got P180,000 for 14 farmers; P450,000 for Santa Barbara for 46 farmers; P604,000 for Barotac Viejo for 68 beneficiaries; P437,000 for Barotac Nuevo with 41 recipients; and P30,000 for Pototan for one farmer.

As of March 13, a total of 24 municipalities covering 114 barangays have been affected by ASF in the province of Iloilo.

These are Oton, San Miguel, Alimodian, Leganes, Santa Barbara, New Lucena, Mina, Barotac Nuevo, Dumangas, Banate, Barotac Viejo, Zarraga, Janiuay, Badiangan, Dueñas, San Dionisio, Batad, Dingle, Estancia, Pototan, Concepcion, San Enrique, Ajuy, and Balasan.
