The Hospital Management Office (HMO), which oversees the management of supervision the 13 provincial government-run hospitals, presented the awards and recognitions obtained by the different hospitals during the flag-raising ceremony this morning.
Five hospitals, namely, the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan, Aleosan District Hospital in Alimodian, Dr. Ricardo S. Provido Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Calinog, Rep. Pedro G. Trono Memorial Hospital in Guimbal, and San Joaquin Mother and Child Hospital were recognized during the Department of Health (DOH) Regional Awarding on November 7, 2024 for achieving the highest 5 Green Viability Assessment System of the DOH.
Each hospital received a cash award of PHP 25,000 for this achievement or a total of PHP 125,000.
These hospitals are the only LGU hospitals in Western Visayas to have been recognized at the regional and national level for their Best Practices as Green and Safe Facilities.
On the other hand, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - Iloilo Chapter recognized all the 13 hospitals of the province for their contributions and achievements as top performing blood partners that resulted in increased blood donor recruitment, retention and care.
The provinceβs hospitals are active partners of the PRC in blood services for more than 10 years. In fact, PRC recognized the HMO and the hospitals as the Top 1 in Blood Collection Nationwide in 2021-2022.
Also, the PhilHealth Regional Office VI recently recognized Sara District Hospital, Gov. Niel D. Tupas Sr. District Hospital in Barotac Viejo, and Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital in Cabatuan as the first, second and third Outstanding Level 1 Hospitals in Western Visayas, respectively.
PhilHealth also awarded Ms. Ginalyn Carman of Federico Roman Tirador Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Janiuay as the Best PhilHealth Clerk.
HMO head Dr. Paz Calopiz and her staff together with the Chiefs of Hospitals gladly presented the awards and recognitions to Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. and Provincial Administrator Raul Banias in the presence of colleagues from the different departments and offices of the Iloilo provincial government.
Governor Defensor congratulated the HMO and the 13 hospitals for their achievements citing that around one-third of the provinceβs budget is allotted to the hospitals to ensure better health services to the people.
