The Program KaTUWAng, a strategic partnership program between the Iloilo Provincial Government and the University of San Agustin in line with the implementation of the Program for Resilience of Iloilo in Mind and Emotion (PRIME) at the Teen Centers of the Province of Iloilo, has recently received the Special Mention Award at the 2024 Asia and Oceania Regional Uniservitate Awards at Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan last September 25, 2024.
Iloilo Provincial Population Office Chief Atty. Ruel Von D. Superio with Dr. Shella Marcela P. Villanueva, Academic Supervisor of the BS Psychology program of the University of San Agustin, presented the said special award to the Governor during the flag-raising ceremony today, 30 September 2024.
The KaTUWAng Program is composed of mental health engagements and psychosocial support activities of B.S. Psychology students as part of their On-the-Job Training, to enhance the functionality of teen centres in lloilo Province through peer counselling, assistance in classroom guidance, and implementation of teen centre programs.
