Iloilo Bags AC Health Award For Transformative Healthcare Partnership

ILOILO BAGS AC HEALTH AWARD FOR TRANSFORMATIVE HEALTHCARE PARTNERSHIP

The Province of Iloilo has been recognized for its efforts to expand access to healthcare through public-private partnership, receiving the Transformative Social Impact Partner of the Year Award from Ayala Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (AC Health).

The award was presented during AC Health’s Client Appreciation Night 2026, themed “Infinite Together,” in Makati City.

Governor Arthur R. Defensor Jr., together with Atty. Yoko Marie A. Eguia, PGDH-HMO, and Anne Marie B. Doromal, DMO III, received the recognition on behalf of the provincial government.

The recognition highlights Iloilo’s partnership with AC Health in strengthening healthcare delivery and bringing essential medical services closer to communities, particularly through the expansion of dialysis services in the province.

In November 2025, the Iloilo Provincial Government formally entered into a public-private partnership with AC Health and Healthway Medical Network to establish and operate dialysis centers in the province’s district and provincial hospitals.

The provincial government would provide spaces for the facilities, while AC Health and its partners undertake the fit-out, equipment, management and operation of the centers in accordance with Department of Health standards.

The project was designed to address the need for more accessible dialysis services, particularly for patients from geographically distant communities who have traditionally had to travel to Iloilo City for treatment.

The planned expansion covers 12 district hospitals and the provincial hospital, with each center initially envisioned to have eight dialysis stations. The initiative is being implemented in phases.

The partnership is part of Iloilo’s continuing effort to strengthen its provincial healthcare system through collaboration with the private sector.
