60 DISTRESSED ILONGGO OFWS RECEIVE P10000 AID EACH

60 Ilonggo overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by the conflicts involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, as well as the Russia-Ukraine war, received P10,000 each in financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the efforts of the Provincial Government of Iloilo.

The assistance, sourced from the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, was requested by Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. to help OFWs and their families cope with the economic disruptions caused by the international conflicts.

The aid provides immediate relief to workers whose livelihoods and sources of income have been affected by the crises abroad.

The distribution was facilitated by the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in coordination with DSWD Field Office VI.
