Governor Arthur R. Defensor Jr. reaffirmed the provincial government's support for early childhood education as preparations gained momentum for the 2026 Provincial Child Development Teachers/Workers Convention slated in August this year.
Officers of the Provincial Federation of Child Development Teachers/Workers, led by president Elizabeth Ortega, together with the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (OPSWDO), paid a courtesy visit to the governor to present the convention's plans and preparations.
During the meeting, Acting Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Rani Melvi A. Cuarte and Provincial ECCD Focal Person Maria Elena Peñafiel joined Ortega in expressing gratitude to Governor Defensor for his continued support of ECCD programs and his commitment to advancing the welfare and professional development of child development workers.
The event aims to recognize, empower, and strengthen Child Development Teachers and Workers in delivering quality Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) services across Iloilo.
It is is expected to gather Child Development Teachers and Workers from municipalities and component cities across the province for capacity-building activities.
