
The Iloilo Provincial Government has recognized the top five research efforts of faculty and students from local universities, granting each institution a cash incentive of Php15,000 for their contributions to advancing science, technology, and socio-economic development in the province.
Researchers from the University of San Agustin (USA), West Visayas State University (WVSU), Iloilo State University of Fisheries, Science, and Technology (ISUFST), University of the Philippines in the Visayas (UPV), and Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISATU) were commended for their innovative studies addressing key challenges in agriculture, fisheries, health, and sustainability.
This initiative is part of the Iloilo Provincial Government’s ongoing partnership with state universities and higher education institutions which seeks to harness academic expertise in various disciplines to support the province’s MoRProGRes ILOILO agenda championed by Governor Arthur Defensor Jr.
The awarded research projects focus on cutting-edge advancements, including renewable energy, food security, marine conservation, and medical technology:

✅ Big Data Classifier Based on Stratified Structured Method on Bayesian Belief Network for Biomedicine Diagnosis Application (WVSU)
✅ Catch Rates and Composition and Characterization of the River Filter Nets in Tinori-an River, Philippines (ISUFST)
✅ Seafood-on-the-Spot: Revolutionizing Emergency Food Packs in the Philippines (UPV)
✅ Pilot Testing of Hybrid Solar Powered Dehydrator Machine for Processing of Agri-Products (ISATU)
