The Province of Iloilo through the PGENRO-EEC Desk headed by Atty. Cesar Emmanuelle P. Buyco, Jr. kick-started the 2025 National Energy Consciousness Month with the theme, "Energy for Every Juan: Bawat Bahay may Enerhiya!"
The celebration focused on the major accomplishments made by the Iloilo provincial government in the implementation of the GEMP under R.A 11285, known as the Energy Efficiency Act of 2019.
This year’s national theme centers on campaigning for smarter energy use and campaigning for EEC initiatives at a household level.
Vice Governor Nathalie Ann Debuque graced the program with a keynote speech highlighting crucial roles of EECOs and focal persons in embracing their GEMP plans - a way of the future as VG Debuque stated.
Board Member Rolando “Rolly” B. Distura, cheered-on with the accomplishments by the Province acknowledging the contributions of EDCOs and focal persons.
Provincial Administrator, Dr. Raul N. Banias gave his words of welcome focusing on the success of the province’s implementation of the GEMP.
Mr. Rey Victor P. Garin, OIC Head for the PGENRO-EEC Desk walked the guests through a recap on the significant feat reached by the province in EEC & RE implementation for this year.
Lourdes S. Arciaga, Chief Science Research Specialist of DOE-VFO’s Energy Resource Development and Utilization Division presented current energy statistics of Panay, asserting the importance of data-based solutions in energy efficiency.
EECOs of Tigbauan and Zarraga LGUs, Mr. Jay E. Tilos & Jeanne P. Concepcion, EnP, presented their EEC best practices that made their respective LGU’s stand out in the GEMP implementation.
Mr. Gualberto Agris of Landbank gave a presentation on financing solutions on RE and EEC projects. ILECO I, II, & III also detailed the Net-Metering application process.
Atty. Cesar Emmanuelle P. Buyco, Jr., PGDH-PGENRO and EECO for the Province of Iloilo closed the program with a powerful statement, “Be the light that shines the path to energy efficiency and conservation”.
