Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. met with Director Ryan A. Jaen of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Expanded 4PH Project Management Office today, June 11, 2026, at the DHSUD Central Office in Quezon City.
During the meeting, the Iloilo provincial government secured funding for a socialized housing project dedicated to Informal Settler Families (ISFs) in the municipality of Santa Barbara. These families will be relocated to make way for the construction of the upcoming Smart, Green Government Center.
The regional government center, a flagship project envisioned by Governor Defensor, will serve as a centralized facility housing various national government agencies aimed at streamlining and enhancing public service delivery.
Moreover, Governor Defensor presented his Purok Resilience Program which aims to provide sustainable and safe homes to residents living in hazard-prone areas. DHSUD expressed interest in replicating the program.
Accompanying the governor during the meeting are Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Dennis Ventilacion, LEDIP Center Chief and Provincial Tourism Officer EnP. Aulynn Yue Sin, and Provincial Community Defense Action Center Chief EnP. Carr Brian Griño.
