The Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) participated in the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) 2025, spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region VI, on September 20, 2025 at Brgy. Sto. Niรฑo Sur, Arevalo, Iloilo City.
The coastal cleanup was joined by stakeholders from national government agencies, provincial and local government offices, the academe, and civic organizations who collectively responded to the global call for action against marine pollution. Volunteers worked together in clearing trash and debris from the coastline, demonstrating unity and shared responsibility in protecting the environment.
The International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), observed annually every third Saturday of September, is the worldโs largest volunteer movement dedicated to addressing coastal and marine pollution. More than just a cleanup activity, it promotes environmental awareness, supports policy advocacy, and strengthens collaboration among communities in safeguarding marine and coastal ecosystems.
Through this initiative, the PGENRO reaffirmed its commitment to environmental stewardship and to advancing the Province of Iloiloโs thrust for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
Together, let us continue working hand in hand to protect our coasts and preserve the beauty and bounty of our marine resources.
