British Embassy Political Counsellor Andrew Bowes paid a visit to the Iloilo Provincial Capitol and met with Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. to discuss possible areas of cooperation between Iloilo and the United Kingdom.
Among the topics discussed were economics, tourism, infrastructure, environment, development, politics, and governance.
Defensor highlighted Iloilo’s strength as an agricultural province and its growing potential as a tourism and food industry hub.
He also raised the possibility of future partnerships with the United Kingdom that could benefit skilled workers, tourism stakeholders, and communities across the province.
The meeting also touched on the Visayas leg of the Good Governance Caravan, which will be held tomorrow, April 16 in Iloilo City.
Joining Defensor during the meeting were Provincial Administrator Raul Banias and Provincial Tourism Officer Aulynn Yue Sin.
