PETS STERILIZED IN CARLES THROUGH CAPITOL LIBRE KAPON DRIVE

Pet owners in Carles gained access to free veterinary services as the Iloilo Provincial Government through the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian-Iloilo continued its campaign for responsible pet ownership, with 44 dogs and cats successfully sterilized during a Libre Kapon (Free Spay and Neuter) activity at Timbo-ok Park.

The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV) led the outreach, providing free spay and neuter procedures that help improve the long-term health of pets while reducing the number of unwanted litters. The initiative also eases the financial burden on pet owners, allowing them to avail themselves of a procedure that many families may otherwise find costly.

Beyond preventing pet overpopulation, sterilization lowers the risk of certain reproductive diseases and helps reduce the number of stray animals that may pose public health and safety.
