Shoppers and vendors at the public market in Cabatuan can soon expect a more reliable and energy-efficient facility after the municipality received P3 million from the Iloilo Provincial Government for the installation of a hybrid on-grid and off-grid solar-powered system at the Cabatuan Public Market.
The funding was formally turned over by Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. to Mayor Elizalde Pueyo today at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol.
Once completed, the solar-powered system is expected to provide a steady power supply at the market, helping ensure uninterrupted operations even during outages while reducing electricity costs for the municipality.
