Newly-appointed National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Commissioner for Island Groups and the Rest of the Visayas Alex A. Centena paid a courtesy visit on Gov. Toto Defensor on May 30, 2025.
The former Calinog Mayor took his oath as NCIP commissioner on May 27. Joining the governor in welcoming Centena is Vice Governor-elect Lee Ann Debuque.
Governor Defensor presented to Centena the School of Living Tradition which will be constructed at Fernandez Perez Memorial National High School at Brgy. Datagan, Calinog.
The provincial government earlier released P8 million to the municipality of Calinog to fund the project which aims to preserve and promote our indigenous cultural heritage.
