Officials of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Region VI, led by Area Manager Atty. Rafael Tatlonghari together with Diego Eric Abecendario and Joemarie Santillan, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. on Tuesday, November 18.
During the meeting, the CAAP officials briefed the Governor on the implementation of the ₱190 million Iloilo International Airport Development Program. The project covers the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Passenger Terminal Building, including the installation of new escalators and elevators, repairs on the passenger boarding bridge and departure conveyor, and the commissioning of three new 600 kW chillers to ensure reliable temperature control inside the terminal.
The officials also discussed plans for the future expansion of the airport runway and the rehabilitation of its access road.
Governor Defensor had earlier met with Department of Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez, who reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to fast track the implementation of the Iloilo Airport Development Project.
