National Youth Commission (NYC) Chairperson and Undersecretary Joseph Francisco "Jeff" Ortega announced that the NYC will roll out new youth-focused initiatives in the province of Iloilo this year.
Undersecretary Ortega served as the keynote speaker during the 2026 Provincial Teen Center Day on September 3 at the Iloilo Convention Center.
Ortega said as the commission is partnering with Meta to bring a dedicated team to Iloilo. The initiative aims to educate teenagers and parents on cyber hygiene or the ethical use of social media.
In his message, Ortega also rallied the Ilonggo youth to use their voices to advocate for good governance, to vote wisely, and to actively contribute to nation-building.
