The Iloilo Provincial Government headed by Gov. Arthur R. Defensor Jr., through its Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office under the leadership of Sarah M. Barayuga, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare Development, with its Regional Director Atty. Carmelo N. Nochete conducted another batch of one-day Food for Training activity in 15 municipalities in the province of Iloilo.

These LGUs are Tigbauan, Janiuay, Mina, Pototan, Banate, New Lucena, Dingle, Ajuy, San Dionisio, Concepcion, Leon, Dumangas, Estancia, Badiangan, and Zarraga. In the previous year, 11 LGUs also availed the same program.

The on-site activity focused on providing disaster preparedness knowledge, highlighting the role of every family member during emergencies as part of Family and Community Preparedness cum Mental Health. They were encouraged to participate in community and integrate mental health as part of the Program for Resilience of Iloilo in Mind and Emotion (PRIME).

The Training was attended by 700 ERPAT (Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities) members, 700 KALIPI (Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina) members, and 200 PYAP (Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines) members with a total of 1,600 members from their various barangays. They received one food pack each as part of the modality of the capacity-building program of DSWD.

This program strengthens the community involvement of the sectoral groups organized by the Local Government Units in partnership with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development.
