Four former rebels received an immediate aid of P10,000 each from the Iloilo provincial government under its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. turned over the cash assistance to three beneficiaries from the municipality of Lemery and one from the municipality of Leon. He was assisted by Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Rani Melvi Cuarte and Staff Sergeant Quarine A Iwag of the Philippine Army 82nd Infantry Battalion (3rd Infantry Division).
Cuarte said the PSWDO is still facilitating the enrollment of the beneficiaries to the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government which provides livelihood and reintegration assistance to the former rebels.
