PCPC AND PCAT VAWC HOLD ITS JOINT 3RD QUARTER TECHNICAL SESSION

True to its commitment of instituting policies and programs through collaboration with various national government agencies, local government units and NGOs, the Provincial Council Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (PCAT-VAWC) along with the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) hold their 3rd Quarter Meeting today, September 30, 2025 at Goldberry Lite Hotel in Iloilo City.

With the aim of strengthening local mechanism for the provision of active and immediate response for cases of human trafficking, one of the agenda during the morning session of PCAT-VAWC includes the presentation of the Coordinated Response Process of the Iloilo International Airport Task Force Against Trafficking in Persons. Updates on the guidelines on the institutionalization and strengthening of R/LCAT-VAWC were also discussed as form of localized program and intervention to ensure a transformative protection of women and children against violence and exploitation.

Other key issues in the afternoon session for PCPC include the presentation of data of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, and update on Resolution creating the Provincial Task Force for Anti-Trafficking in Persons.  A review of the Local Code for Children and data sets for the Local Development Plan for Children were also taken up.

To recall, in September of 2023 the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) and its representatives from various member agencies conducted a planning workshop for its 3-year Development Plan for Children.

The Local Development Plan for Children will serve as blueprint that guides the PCPC and the entire province of Iloilo in the implementation of programs, projects and response mechanism for the best interest of children while the enactment of a Local Code for Children will recognize their rights and promote their welfare.
