An Iloilo-based esports team competing in the national Mobile Legends Development League Philippines (MDL PH) paid a courtesy visit to Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. ahead of their semifinal campaign in Tagaytay this May 20.
Martial Mayhem TM, composed of players from Iloilo City and Iloilo province, met with the governor to share the team’s achievements and seek continued support as they represent Iloilo in the Tier 2 professional Mobile Legends league.
Leading the team is captain Clarence Morguia together with Keith Nicolette Damasco, Jan Kian Requillo, John Lester Prologo, Windel Jay Rosillo, Shan Andre Bensoy, Jonathan Andrev Villena, Shan Owen Robles, Prayeo Mancilla Jr., Welmar Benedicto, and Angelo Casanare.
Head coach Frinz Carl Belo said the team hopes to bring pride to Iloilo as it competes against top squads from across the country. “Our team is ensured sa Top 4 kay automatically qualified kita sa semi-finals,” said Belo.
Team manager John Christian Fullon said the team’s entry into the national playoffs is a milestone not only for the players but also for the Ilonggo gaming community.
“We are the only team from VisMin nga nakasulod diri and this is a big feat and glimmer of hope sa aton Ilonggo gamers,” he said, while encouraging Ilonggos to support the team through live and virtual viewership to boost the players’ morale.
