Iloilo Delegates Bagged Best Action Plan Award As Country Representatives

ILOILO DELEGATES BAG BEST ACTION PLAN AWARD AS COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVES

Two delegates from the Iloilo Provincial Government were recognized by the International Urban Training Center (IUTC) for having the Best Action Plan Award during the Regional Development and Economic Activation (RDEA) Training in Gangwon Province, Republic of Korea.

Planning Officers Mae A. Abeja and Carr Brian J. Griño of the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) received the award for their outstanding presentation of an action plan focused on revitalizing economic opportunities for sustainable tourism in Northern Iloilo.

Each country's participants presented their strategies for regional development and activation, incorporating urban regeneration, job support policies, digital transformation, financial inclusion, community engagement, and resource utilization.

Vietnam also received the same recognition for their study on Can Tho City's Cai Rang Floating Market presented by Phuong Duy Nguyen.

The Regional Development and Economic Activation started April 17-25, 2024, is an International Training Course Program aimed at promoting urban development, sustainability, and practical approaches, as well as best practices by Gangwon State, Korea, for urban regeneration amidst their challenges posed by low population growth.

The International Training Program which was participated by representatives from Vietnam, Indonesia, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines, was facilitated by the International Urban Training Center (IUTC) through the efforts of Dr. Yeonghoon Kim, with the support of the Gangwon Provincial Government, in partnership with UN-Habitat in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon Province, Republic of Korea.
